OATS (Osteochondral Autograft Transplantation Surgery)

In this procedure bone and cartilage plugs are harvested from the patient.  They are then transplanted to the bare area which has been pre-prepared to receive the bone and cartilage dowel.  For larger defects, this can be repeated to produce a mosaic of transplant tissue.  For very large defects, bulk donor tissue can be sourced.
